Contest Requirements

Entrants are invited to submit photographs that they have taken in and around Spirit Square in Maple Ridge. The photos should be a good representation of the Contest theme and should be taken in 2009.

All photo submissions that meet the requirements of this Contest will be posted on the http://community.mapleridgeweekends.com website and viewed and rated by the individuals who have a Strutta account. Strutta account holders will be entitled to vote once per photo entry. The photo with the most votes will be declared the Selected Entrant. In the event of a tie for first place, the Contest Organizer will cast the winning vote for the photo that best represents the Contest theme.

Security measures are in place to monitor the voting process. Any attempt to circumvent these rules (through the use of computer scripts or any other means) to increase the number of votes may result in those votes being erased, and may result in that photo’s disqualification from the Contest.

Photos may not contain obvious branding, nudity, or include any activity that may be deemed offensive, dangerous, illegal or inappropriate. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure they have permission from any person featured in any photograph to submit the photograph. Any photo(s) submitted to this Contest must, in its entirety, be a single work of original material taken by the Entrant. The photo(s) must not have been previously submitted in a promotion of any kind or exhibited or displayed publicly through any means. The photo(s) must not contain material that violates or infringes another's rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement.

There will be one (1) prize awarded. The Selected Entrant will be chosen on the date listed above. The Selected Entrant will receive a Dinner and Entertainment Prize Package: The approximate retail value for the prize is $50.00 for the dining gift certificate to Lava Dining & Lounge, $70 for two tickets to a show at the ACT and $35 for the 100 photo processing card.

The District of Maple Ridge (the “Contest Sponsors”) reserve the right to approve or reject any photos. All decisions of the Contest Sponsors regarding the eligibility of a photo submission are final.

Entrants may submit their photo entry online at http://community.mapleridgeweekends.com. Once connected to this website, Entrants will find a link to the Maple Ridge Photo Contest. Once Entrants are connected to the Contest area of the site, they will be provided with instructions on how to enter their photos along with the Entry Form and Declaration Release Form. Photos should be accompanied by a description indicating the date, location and story of the photo. Selected Entrants may be asked to produce a high-resolution digital photo. Entrants may enter as many photographs as they like, but each entry must be submitted separately.

In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose name the email account is registered.
